A THIRD GENERATION DIAMANTAIRE, DAVID GOTLIB grew up in Antwerp, the heart of the global diamond industry. For the past twenty years, Gotlib has been successfully managing the family business buying and selling rough and polished diamonds. His grandfather was a well-known and respected diamantaire and his father, Marcel, continues that legacy, remaining active in the business today. In his own right, David Gotlib is an influential member of the diamond industry and currently serves as President of the Antwerp Diamond Bourse.
As a young child, Gotlib helped his father sort rough diamonds before the gems were sent to the factory to be polished. Those early moments sparked Gotlib’s lifelong passion for rare and precious gems.
That passion was nurtured by his mother, Frida, who, for as long as Gotlib can remember, always shared her love for art and culture. She raised her children to have a deep sense of curiosity, wanting them to understand the creative process behind every piece of art they saw in the many museums they visited throughout the world.
Gotlib spent a short time working in the world of finance before joining the family business. As he became more involved in the diamond business, Gotlib realized that he wanted to find a way to express his creativity. Combining his passion for diamonds, learned from his father, and his love of art, learned from his mother, Gotlib merged the two interests together and created the DAVID GOTLIB Cufflink collection. DAVID GOTLIB cufflinks are comprised of diamonds, colored gemstones and precious metals all artfully designed for the sophisticated gentleman.
